“When you nurture where you are, you get where you want to go.”
As a culture we celebrate and make space for positive emotions, but we lack shared spaces to process loss, grief and overwhelm. These life experiences are woven into our biology, reflected in our bodies.
That’s why I’m introducing a monthly series called Yin Yoga for Feeling & Healing: The Broken Hearts Club.
For 90 minutes, we’ll come together to pause and make space for the body to catch up to the heart and mind.
Feeling sad is a perfectly appropriate response to the magnitude of grief that we’re exposed to today. We have the capacity to care for our community and show up for them, but as much as we may try, we don’t have the capacity to extend this to the entire world.
You may be experiencing environmental, ancestral or cultural grief. Many of us are also living with loss in various forms. Carrying this all adds to the overwhelm that we can feel from daily living. Yin Yoga for Feeling & Healing is a body-based practice designed to activate the body’s parasympathetic response and improve neurobiological resilience.
Come and join us for a yin yoga practice, curated playlist and a space for resting the mind in breath and body.
What to expect:
A 90-minute Yin Yoga practice
Restorative breathwork
Curated playlist (some songs with lyrics)
Periods of quiet
Reflection question
A Reading
Research suggests that the presence of community induces feel-good neurotransmitters, including oxytocin, and improves physical and psychological health metrics. Join us for a practice that meets us where we are so we can get to where we want to go.
Come as you are
